A Child Is Born
So…. the pressure is on!
Your child has been born and there is so much for you to do. Your family and friends have a list of things that you are now expected to do as part of your religion including welcoming and naming your child. You need to start all the planning now, listening to everyone, taking it all in whilst trying to be a new parent.
Wow – its hard and what makes it more difficult is that you would prefer not to have a religious ceremony as you are not religious. You do respect religion and others beliefs, but it is not your chosen way of life. So how do you cope? What can you do? Who can help you? (Time to Breathe)
Have you thought about speaking to a Celebrant? Do you know how a Celebrant can help? Well here is how!
It’s called the Naming Ceremony
If you decide that a religious ceremony or a christening is not for you, then you may choose a naming ceremony to formally welcome your child into the world. Naming ceremonies are a fantastic way to celebrate the arrival of a new baby with friends and family, the ceremony can be held for children of any age and are becoming popular for welcoming adopted or step-children into the family.
As your Celebrant, I will meet with you to discuss and agree how best to conduct the ceremony including any speeches, readings, music and any symbolic moments or promises. On the special day I will ensure that the day runs just the way you want it to; making it special, unique and memorable for you, your family and friends.
