Meet Bhavini and Senthuran
Bhavini is Hindu, and Senthuran (known as Sen) is Tamil. They both wanted to celebrate their identities as individuals and as a couple.
Bhavini shared that Sen is her rock, who grounds her, and she is so grateful for his presence in her life. She is independent, but when she reflects on her life over the past 8 years, Sen has brought the best out of her, and she is so in love with him. Sen is super intelligent, loves to party, and has so much energy for life.
Sen shared that Bhav is an amazing person who brings so much warmth daily to his life. Her energy and personality always light up the room in any situation, which is one of the many things he loves about her. She is a very passionate person and always makes time for her friends and family. Although they are different, Bhav is more empathetic than him, and he likes to think more in logical steps. Even though they have differences, they have been open and listened to each other as they realise they usually want the same thing and have different ways of approaching something.
Planning the Ceremony

What Made this Multicultural Celebrant Wedding Ceremony Special
The ceremony started with a very energetic Baarat outside the venue. Then, Sen entered the hall, where Bhav’s mum greeted him to welcome him to the wedding and permitted him to make his way to the stage after he broke the clay pot. The procession to the stage included his family and individuals with trays of items we would use during the wedding.
Throughout the ceremony, the musicians from D26 Music, @d26music and @shrigadhvi, played guitar and tabla for the songs the couple had chosen and other appropriate music to fill the air, which helped to stop people from chatting.
After my welcome, Sen carried out the Ganesh Puja. Then it was time for the Bridal party to enter, followed by Bhav. The Mangala Ashtaka and the Sumangali Puja followed, and in between each ritual, I called an uncle up to come to do the coconut ritual, where the expectation was that the coconut would be cut in one go.
After the Kanyadaan, Thaali, Sindhoor and Garland rituals, Bhav’s sister and Sen’s best friend shared a reading, leading us to the Saptapadi, Phera and Koda Kodi. To end the ceremony, the final alarthi (aarti), the Mangala Alarthi, was carried out by the mums to ward off evil and a blessing from the mums.
I finished the ceremony with a blessing from me as their Celebrant before they walked or should I say, danced back up the aisle.

About the Venue
Wilton Hall, built in 1943, was an assembly hall for the Government Code and Cipher School. In the 1960s, it was used as a music hall, and several megastars, including The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, and Lulu, have performed there.
It is a lovely venue close to the world-famous Bletchley Park War Time Museum and has ample parking for larger weddings. There is a stage, an area for the bride to get ready, which includes a mirror, and it is very suitable for a celebrant wedding ceremony.

Testimonial
We were lucky enough to have Sonal as our celebrant for our mixed-culture Hindu wedding in September this year. If you are looking for someone to work with on your ceremony, I couldn’t recommend Sonal enough – she dedicates time to building a ceremony that is guided by the couple, makes gentle suggestions to make it the most special experience and responds swiftly, which can sometimes be a challenge managing so many vendors and contacts during wedding planning!
During the ceremony, everyone was so taken aback by Sonal’s stage presence and command of the audience to make it a joyful and inclusive experience, she took everyone through the ceremony gracefully and ensured we had nothing to worry about on the day, we couldn’t have been more happy with our decision to go with her. Thank you so much Sonal, and for D26 music for making our ceremony so memorable!
