Natasha and Aaron – Multicultural Celebrant Wedding Ceremony

Natasha and Aaron take part in a traditional wedding ceremony outdoors, exchanging floral garlands beside a decorated ceremonial setup.

Real Ceremonies by Sonal Dave

It was a beautiful outdoor ceremony. The sun was out, and the wind decided to blow in the wrong direction, so I needed to turn against the wind to get my hair out of my face. Both Aaron and Natasha had a string quartet for their entrances, followed by the Ganesh Puja carried out by their parents. Then followed the garland ceremony, with words of love and thanks to their parents for everything they had done to get Aaron and Natasha to be who they are now.

Meet Natasha & Aaron

Aaron and Natasha are a multicultural couple who love to travel. Despite meeting during COVID travel restrictions, meaning they could not travel for the first year of our relationship, they made up for it, travelling to 9 different countries two years later. They are keen walkers and have climbed Mount Snowdon and hiked in the UK and abroad. Outside of that, we love to try new foods, both eating out and at home.

Aaron describes Natasha as kind, hilarious, and simply a beautiful person who is incredibly supportive of
He is fairly laid-back, but Natasha gives and generates the fire that spurs them on to do so many nice things in life. At the same time, Aaron appreciates how Natasha can be lighthearted and silly, making every day great. Aaron appreciates that Natasha allows him to be himself daily and embraces everything he is.

Natasha describes Aaron as the kindest and most caring person she knows. His thoughtfulness shines through in all the little gestures he does, showing her how much he cares and is willing to brighten her day. Aaron is incredibly content and positive and lives by the “glass half full” mantra. No matter the situation, he effortlessly brings a sense of calmness and infectious optimism, creating the perfect balance in their relationship, especially for someone like Natasha, who can be prone to panic and moving at 100 miles an hour at times! Aaron is more than just a life partner to her. Aaron is her best friend.

Planning the Ceremony

Working with Aaron and Natasha was easy as they knew what they wanted for their ceremony. It was a new venue, so I had to ensure that I made contact with the venue and understood the layout, including where to park. The parking is essential as we bring the PA and need to be as close as possible to offload the equipment.

As the ceremony was outdoors, I had to ensure I understood the layout and where the nearest plug socket was, which was far away. Thankfully, the venue’s staff were very helpful and arranged for a long extension and the other items on our list.

An important lesson when planning these ceremonies is to understand the venue, the location of the ceremony, the plug sockets, and the toilets. Plus, make sure you have a point of contact when you arrive. Aaron’s dad was there to meet me upon my arrival and answer my questions. He also helped me set up. Thank you, uncle.

What Made this Multicultural Celebrant Wedding Special

It was a beautiful outdoor ceremony. The sun was out, and the wind decided to blow in the wrong direction, so I needed to turn against the wind to get my hair out of my face.

Both Aaron and Natasha had a string quartet for their entrances, followed by the Ganesh Puja carried out by their parents. Then followed the garland ceremony, with words of love and thanks to their parents for everything they had done to get Aaron and Natasha to be who they are now. There were definitely tears at this point. It was an honour to be allowed to share these words on behalf of the couple.

The Covid journey for the couple, how they met and what happened after was a lovely lead into their personal vows and the ring exchange. The ceremony ended with the phera, my blessing and a walk back up the aisle to lots of cheering and applause.

Every person who attended their ceremony was there for the couple. I could feel the warmth and love from each person. It really was a special ceremony.

Testimonial

Sonal did an amazing job delivering a special and bespoke wedding ceremony for us at The Elvetham, beautifully blending both Hindu and Western traditions to reflect our heritages. It truly made our day, and we received so many compliments from our guests. We also greatly appreciated Sonal’s support, invaluable advice, and regular check-ins leading up to the big day.

She was always available whenever we needed to talk and was also incredibly responsive to any questions via email. We loved Sonal’s warm and positive attitude and how accommodating and inventive she was in managing the time before the ceremony when we faced some unexpected delays. We would absolutely recommend Sonal to anyone in the future. Thank you!

Liz & Paul Celebrant Wedding Ceremony

The ceremony for Liz and Paul was set in the most inspirational setting with a train, suitcases and more. It felt like we were in a scene from Harry Potter. In their ceremony, we included readings from close friends, the couple's story, shared promises, the ring exchange and the handfasting ritual.

Deepa & Steve Multicultural Celebrant Wedding Ceremony

The ceremony was outdoors, and the weather was great—sunny but not too hot. However, we did have to avoid the wasps. We had live musicians throughout the ceremony, including a Dhol for the Jaan, Tabla, Guitar and Keyboard. The Antarpat (usually a white cloth) which did not allow Steve to see Deepa until the cloth was brought down. The Ganesh Puja, the Garland Exchange, Readings, Thank you's to the parents, Promises, Personal Vows, Ring Exchange, Tying of the Knot, The Phera, The Mangalsutra and a game of Koda Kodi.

Aarthi and Phil Multicultural Celebrant Wedding Ceremony

Their wedding was an outdoor wedding at Folly Farm. It was the hottest day of that year, and the views we had as we were up on a hill were amazing. Everyone looked amazing, and the wedding ceremony was full of colour, from the flowers to the outfits.
