Seven frequently appears in Jewish weddings, for several different reasons:
The bride will circle the groom seven times which demonstrates that the groom is the center of the bride’s life.
Circling seven times also represents the sevenfold bond established between the bride, groom, and their respective families.
There are also the seven blessings, (Sheva Brachot), These are the heart of the Jewish wedding ceremony. Seven different blessings are bestowed upon the couple when they are standing under the chuppah
How you count the Christian vows could also be considered as seven
“I, ___, take thee, ___, to be my wedded husband/wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part, according to God’s holy ordinance; and thereto I pledge thee my faith [or] pledge myself to you.”
The number seven also appears in an Islamic Wedding. It is believed that the number 7 is a direct link to the power of the divine. There is a tradition that seven women who are already married touch the bride’s wedding outfit and bless them with a happy marriage.
And let’s not forget that we have seven days in a week.
